Quick and Quippy

What if every move you made was to better yourself?

What if every action was a direct attempt to grow? To be a better person?

What kind of people would we be if we lived each day better than the last?

…and where exactly does that begin?

Does that mean we forgive and forget?

But if we forget then how do we grow?

Does it mean we keep our eyes forward and away from the past?

But if we don’t remember the past, then how can we better our future?

There’s a balance there somewhere, and I’m still trying to figure it out.

But the important thing is, I’m trying. I’m conscious. I’m realizing that an effort ought to be made.

That counts, in the end, I think.

  1. Forgiveness is not all it’s cracked up to be. I mean, if you feel moved to forgive and are able to, then great. But if you can’t, then I think letting go is the important part – letting go of anger especially. Anger is poison.

    • Very much agree with you there. 🙂 It’s anger and resentment that weigh you down. If you rise above all of that and accept what happened you can be a much better person. Freer, at least.
